We did a lot of flying this past week.  My new favorite Engrish phrase was uttered on the flights between Jakarta and here: "Please have a careful when opening the overhead bins."  

Have a careful!

I feel like this is something I should say when handing someone a Kleenex or an anti-bacterial wipe.


Another random moment: this morning as I got off of the helicopter and walked into the hangar, I was greeted by an old, native Papuan wearing only a toothless grin and a koteka.  I wanted to say, "Aaaaand, top o' the mornin' to you, too!"  

A shocking way to start the day.
