Today's post is for my friend, Radeana JOHNSON (Hi Deana!), who very coincidentally emailed me on the very same day that my prodigal Johnson returned.  I haven't heard from Radeana for several years, and I haven't seen Johnson in several months, so I felt it appropriate to share this immediate influx of Johnsons in the Smiths' existence.  Johnson (the slug) had previously been living in the tropical plants on the front balcony, but since I hadn't seen him in a while, I thought he'd probably taken up residence in my downstairs neighbors' much more substantial flower garden.  Anyway, now he's back and I think he wants to move to the parsley.  The poor little guy was probably waiting outside the door the whole time we were out eating, and then fell asleep.  How might I know this is my Johnson, and not any slug out of the jungle?  Johnson is the only slug I know who snores.

Overheard this piece of interesting slang last night:

"I'm as dry as a dead dingo."

Guess where that guy was from...

I went to a friend's wedding this weekend in Bali.  It did not start well.  I won't go into all details, because I do not want to dwell on it anymore, but I can sum it up in these phrases: a four-hour plane delay, causing me to get approximately 1 hour of sleep in a 24-hour period; an unfortunate run-in with apple-scented projectile baby vomit; and furry, long-tailed tenants occupying my hotel room (clue: sounds like "cats").

But am I bitter?  No.  It was a lovely sunrise in Bali when we arrived at 6:00am.  And the wedding was amazing!  I'll bet you wish you would have gotten married in a glass chapel that overlooked the ocean, don't you?

This reminds me of fireworks.

Depending on the size of your computer screen, this is close to half of life-size.  From tip of its leg to the other, it was almost as big as my hand.  I felt completely composed when I took the photo, but now I feel the urge to start hyperventilating and run away from the computer just from looking at it.

He's even looking at the camera!  He's probably reacting to the flash abouuuuut... riiiiiiight...now.
